About
My name is Ashlee, and at the moment I am 25, but I am told that is liable to change annually.
I have been living and working in Jakarta (the capital city of Indonesia for the geographically challenged) for nearly two years, but I am an Australian hailing from the wee little “regional city” of Albury on the NSW/Victoria border.
In August 2010, if all goes according to plan, I will be moving to Washington D.C. to study International Development at American University’s School of International Service.
I was living in Sydney for more than five years before arriving in Jakarta, working in community newspapers, primarily covering local government, politics, health, transport and urban development.
I work in the media… I still call myself a journalist, but realistically that was more my old job and I worked in the more production-y side of things in Indonesia. I try and write and photograph things when I have the time.
My professional CV and portfolio can be found over here.

Hi Ashlee, I found your blog through IndonesiaMatters blog rank. I usually go and visit the page once in a while and today I see a lot of new blogs listed, and one of them is yours. Love the pics and now I’m reading the posts. Funny that you’re an Oz in Jakarta, and I’m an Indo currently in Oz! Hope you’re having fun there.

Yes, in due time to answer, it is important
I apologise, but this variant does not approach me. Who else, what can prompt?
I congratulate, an excellent idea

Certainly. All above told the truth. We can communicate on this theme.
^^^^^ Sometimes the spam is just too damn funny to delete.
Are you sure that’s not just our old friend WB trying to leave some feedback?
LOLS. Too funny Heb.
I just read an article of yours in the Jakarta Globe, about repatriating in Australia, I identify with so many of those experiences too. Thanks for a great blog and pics.
