I’m alive!

Sorry the blog has been neglected for a month! I’ve been really sick with bronchitis, really busy with school and reading, and time has just vanished.

I shouldn’t even be blogging right now, I have a midterm exam on Wednesday!

Here’s a couple of small things to tide you over until I next blog, which may be May 2012 at the way things are currently going.

– YAY the Australian dollar hit parity! Please stay strong Oz :)… not only for the people back home who like to buy books from Amazon.com, but mostly for me!!!

-I ordered a “turkey and vegetable” sandwich the other day. It had turkey and bacon on it! Oh America! Bacon isn’t a vegetable!!!

-We ordered a pizza from Papa John’s the other day at work. Just in case it wasn’t greasy cheesy enough, it came with multiple tubs of garlic butter that could be poured all over it, or that you could dip your crusts in. Huh?

– On more appetizing food news, I finally went to Trader Joe’s. The rumors were true. It’s pretty amazing. Dark chocolate coated edamame anyone? I wish I wasn’t living in defecit so I could only shop there and Wholefoods Market and try and avoid the corn subsidized garbage in Giant… seriously, I bought cheese there the other day and when I read the ingredients list it had corn in it? Huh?

– Yesterday I was feeling cheeky so when someone asked where my weird-ass accent was from, I cheerily replied “Idaho!”.  They looked confused.  I am thinking about doing this again some time soon.  Which state should I choose next?

-I’m thinking of buying a Kindle to save lugging textbooks and printouts of PDFs with me everywhere and getting sore eyes from reading off my laptop screen for hours. Anyone want to talk me out of it? Can you think of any reasons no? They are only $139 now.

OK, now I’ve really got to get back to study. As Liz Lemon would say, BLERGH!

Everyone I know who has a kindle loves it and doesn’t have any back problems. I don’t have one myself though so I might not be aware of some deep flaw they have.

    And Trader Joe’s <3

With the Australian dollar touching parity it makes me want to burst into song. I think that classic Australiana tune Go you good thing, is appropriate. Good luck on the mid terms.

Could you send me a copy of the comment that you sent the Border Morning mail that thet chose not to print. This is just for curiosity , rather than anything else.

Thanks for the comments, y’all. And I actually did get some time to make some blog this week, much to my surprise.

I ended up getting a Kindle and I luuuuuurve it. The only problem is that it doesn’t convert some PDFs that well (especially if they are a scan of an old book), but it does a lot really well, so I think it was a good investment. It is great for reading on the bus or Metro.
